Campaign To Have Cuts Issues Charity Song At No 1 For Christmas

A campaign on You Tube and Face Book to have a video and song against government cuts in health and safety and public services reach the pop charts at number One for Christmas is gaining momentum with the announcement this week of its release on December 11th as a single for download.

Click here to go to videoThe song and video entitled 'Liar, Liar, Liar' attacks the Con-dem coalition for lieing to the electorate in order to deliver a long standing blow to health and safety law, the privatisation of everything and the mass unemployment being pursued by the Tories and their bed fellows, the Liberal Democrats.

With quotes from key government officials over a catchy repetitive tune and lyrics, the song's aim is to highlight the fact that this government is not being truthful with their reasons for introducing the worst cuts in public services in memory.

The Trade Union movement has not been slow to also realise that by making tens of thousands and perhaps as many as 1.5 million people unemployed, it is also an attack on the TU movement as people lose their jobs and their Trade Union membership.

The organisers of this campaign believe that public condemnation of the Con-Dem(ned) coalition government plans and mass public outcry is needed in order for the MPs and the public in general to understand the mass anger being felt across society by those worst affected by these cuts: the disabled, the homeless, the jobless and sick and elderly.

Using popular culture as its tool and as a challenge to the celebrity driven culture of the X-Factor which ignores and helps to bury the realties of life in the UK under this government; it is hoped that once again public conscience and action can be brought back to life.

All the proceeds from the sale of the download will go to charity with the plans now in their final stage.

The single can be viewed, in advance of its release, direct from YouTube or by clicking on the pic above.
